Stay Tuned! Beyond Regulation: Building Knowledge, Shaping Dialogue, Engaging Market Voices
A market evolves through more than rules and regulations. It evolves when knowledge is created, shared, exchanged, and connected to the people shaping the market.
Over the years, GASREG has been building this journey—moving from regulation to knowledge, from knowledge to engagement, and from engagement to continuous market dialogue.
The journey began with developing technical and regulatory frameworks to support the evolution of Egypt’s gas market.
But as the market developed, so did the need to understand emerging challenges, explore different perspectives, and learn from experiences beyond our own.
This led to a growing focus on technical studies, market analysis, knowledge papers, and the exchange of technical expertise.
Through collaboration with international regulators and organizations such as ERRA and MEDREG, GASREG has contributed to knowledge exchange through joint publications and shared technical work, creating opportunities to exchange experience and demonstrate Egypt’s contribution to the wider technical and regulatory knowledge base.
The conversation continued through authoring and co-authoring technical research papers, books and reports presented and accepted at different international and venues “ ex. Saudi Energy Congres, ADIPEC 2026 in the UAE,..others”, These platforms provided opportunities to share GASREG’s technical work and knowledge with the wider energy community, while learning from international experiences and opening the door to new perspectives and ideas.
As knowledge grew, so did engagement.
Through public consultations, market-awareness activities, and technical discussions on emerging topics such as DSO development, CNG Codes, and hydrogen, knowledge moved beyond reports and research and into direct interaction with stakeholders.
This exchange also extended through study visits and direct engagement with international regulators, including the Tanzanian regulator, creating further opportunities to share experiences, understand different regulatory approaches, and exchange practical knowledge around the evolving needs of the gas market.
At EGYPES, the dialogue became even broader, bringing together market participants, experts, and international experience to share knowledge, exchange views, and discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Egypt’s gas market.
And through this journey, one important lesson became clear:
Knowledge creates greater value when it keeps moving.
It needs to be continuously shared, discussed, challenged, and enriched through interaction with the market and with those bringing different experiences and perspectives.
This created a clear need for a regular and continuous platform for discussion, engagement, knowledge transfer, and exchange—a platform that keeps the market conversation alive, rather than limiting it to individual studies, events, or consultations.
This is where the next chapter begins. As GASREG is taking the next step with the launch of its first Technical Bulletin.
More than a publication, the Bulletin is designed as a continuous knowledge-sharing and market-awareness platform—connecting technical insights, market developments, international experience, and the voices of those shaping the gas sector.
It will provide a regular space to share knowledge, exchange experiences, highlight market developments, and bring different perspectives into one continuous conversation.
The ambition is to create a platform where market intelligence meets technical expertise, where experience is shared, perspectives are exchanged, and knowledge continues to move between GASREG, market participants, experts, consultants, investors, and the wider energy community.
Because the conversation should not stop when a study ends, a conference closes, or a consultation is completed.
It should continue.
It should evolve.
And it should remain connected to the voices of the market.
